The Beast
.
Some days are good days, and some days are much harder than others to traverse. Sometimes its a constant uphill battle to remain in control of the thoughts and the feelings fighting for control within you. When the world you exist in seems to become heavy and rough with anxiety, a dark haze of worry surrounds your thoughts, and your mind never does seem to relax quite enough to enable comfort. Those reaching tendrils of stress, worry, sadness and pain seem overwhelming at times, always controlling the aspects of your life you want back the most.
This controlling beast obscures the beautiful music you once could hear, but no longer can decipher. It’s been replaced with harsh and deafening static and white noise. No more are the simple routines and the favoured hobbies enough to satisfy you, not when this growing beast inside you extends its grasp a little deeper, a little farther. You notice the sluggish loss of interest in things you used to enjoy, things you used to live for. You still think of them fondly, but you no longer can find the desire to go through with them. You lose the resolve to do, the push for action. Its almost as though you want everything to change. You wish everything would disappear from your view, from your perception. You want and you need this beast to permanently leave you alone. And for some of us who can’t handle days like this, everything disappears and it does. Then it moves on to someone else, in hopes of conquering new prey.
But the rest of us keep fighting, keep on pushing back with relentless force at this veiled beast within us. We close our eyes at night, and know at least for this short time we’re in a state of peace, it no longer has any control. We’re in control of our dreams, and with enough resolve, and a few miraculous pills, we’re can be in complete control of our lives too. Just remember you aren’t the only one who’s fighting these types of days and that dark beast inside. Thats just what it wants you to think. So reach out a hand and join us. Only then can we destroy it once and for all.
